1º Torneo Internazionale di Scacchi - IL SILENZIO DELLE MUSE is scheduled for October 23, 2026 in Teatro delle Muse Piazza della Repubblica, 60121, Ancona (AN). The listed format is 5-round Swiss. The listed time control is 90 min + 30 sec. This preview is for club players deciding whether to enter, and for spectators who want a clear picture of the field and format. ## What the calendar says The listing places the event in the international calendar. Check the organiser's page before you travel: sections, time control, and registration close dates sometimes change after the first announcement. ## How to prepare if you enter Treat the fortnight before the event as a short training block rather than a crash course. 1. Play two or three slow games and review the moments you felt unsure. 2. Refresh one opening you already play; do not start a new repertoire. 3. Spend a session on the endgames you actually reach: king and pawn, rook endings, and basic conversion. ## What to watch Even if you are not playing, a well-run open is useful study. Follow one board rather than every game. Write down the pawn break that changed the position, then compare it with the game continuation. That habit travels back to club night. If you go, arrive early enough to see the pairing sheet and the increment. Small logistics mistakes cost more rating points than a forgotten sideline.
