CheckMate Kids Sunday Club runs once a month at Hotel Rafayel, three hours of proper chess on a Sunday afternoon. Every child gets small group coaching pitched at their level, then plays friendly rated matches with prizes and the chance to climb our CheckMate Divisions ladder. Coaching is led by Sam Walker (National Master, former England U14 Champion) and Gabriel Barr (former England junior and British Schools Championships medallist), with over 50 years of competitive chess between them.
