What is a FEN?
FEN (Forsyth–Edwards Notation) is one line of text describing a position: piece placement from rank 8 to 1, side to move, castling rights, en passant square and move counters. Paste any FEN from Lichess, Chess.com or your engine, or build the position with the editor above.
